SAVE THE DATE: Final event of the sAFE project virtually on 10 November 2021

Since 2019, the EU-funded research project sAFE – Aftermarket eCall for Europe aimed to define standards and specifications to pave the way for the deployment of aftermarket systems for eCall.
More than 23 representatives from research and industry participated in the project to define minimum performance and conformance requirements for aftermarket 112-eCall systems and devices in order to avoid overloading PSAPs with false calls. In addition, the project dealt with different variants of aftermarket eCall systems for the whole range of vehicle categories that are supposed to use the single emergency number 112.
The project worked with European standardisation bodies to develop the necessary technical standards for aftermarket eCall systems. Furthermore, an eCall Association Initiative was started to establish an organisational structure to connect relevant eCall stakeholders for future development and standardisation activities. Now, after three years, the sAFE final event will take place on 10 November 2021 virtually.
The event is intended to mark the successful conclusion of the European funded project sAFE – Aftermarket eCall for Europe and will present the results achieved by the sAFE project partners during the project duration.
